McKay Public School helps families in need

Today the Grade 7 French Immersion students from McKay Public School visited Port Cares to drop off the presents they are donating for 2 families here in Port Colborne.

According to their teachers Amber Christie and Jenn Vanderlaan, the students were excited to participate in the Port Cares “Adopt a Family” program this Christmas. The students raised over $700.00 from donations and their own savings to be able to purchase the items for the families. The students wanted to give locally first as there is a real need here in our own community. The balance of the money raised will  be used by the McKay students to support children in other countries through the Canadian Feed the Children charitable organisation.

Thank you to all of the Grade 7  French Immersion Students and Teachers at McKay Public School for their generosity and giving spirit this Holiday Season.
