The Board of Directors of Port Cares is pleased to announce that Christine Clark Lafleur has been hired as the organization’s new Executive Director. Christine Clark Lafleur, a resident of Ridgeway, brings more than twenty years of experience working in health care, the communications field, and executive administration to the social service agency.
Ms. Clark Lafleur has an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, and is currently completing a Master of Arts degree in Information Studies at Athabasca University. Her outstanding and proven leadership skills have been successfully acknowledged and praised by those who have had the privilege to work with Christine. Her professional roles have included Chief Administrative Director, Office of the President, Brock University, Chief Communications Officer with the Niagara Health System, and Director of Community Relations for the former St. Catharines General Hospital and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital. In addition, Christine has been extensively involved as a Director of the provincial Trillium Gift of Life Network.
Christine has left a significant imprint on a number of initiatives and programs. At Brock University, to gauge the progress that was being made on its 2010 – 2014 strategic plan, she created and led a multi-stakeholder environmental scan to identify and assess the University’s strengths and weaknesses. In 2011, while at the Niagara Health System, she was responsible for the community engagement and stakeholder forum to support the introduction of new cancer treatment services in Niagara.
