feel comfortable and confident while they study the necessary skills
they will need to reach their goals".

Stefanie Jones - "Stefanie
Jones, a computer student in the 'Learn 2 Earn' program at Port Cares,
works on her second Program at the Learning Centre. The
work-at-your-own-pace Computer programs allow students to take their
time and understand the material, as well as employing hands-on
learning for a more unique educational experience."

Next Step Learners - "Learners
in our 'Next Step' course participate in an activity about
goal-setting. The 6-week life skills course gives learners the

Testimonials
"I was put in a situation where I had to
reeducate, and reinvent myself in order to look for employment. I have
never taken any computer courses, I felt a little intimidated. A friend
recommended Port Cares. So I took her advice and I am glad I did.
The Staff at Port Cares are understanding,
compassionate and really do CARE. The atmosphere in the computer lab is
relaxing with no pressure. You work at your own level and pace. When
you finish a level successfully, you are rewarded with a certificate of
achievement. What a great incentive!
When I received my first certificate, I was very
proud and felt good about myself. I now have an excellent start with my
goal, which is upgrading my resume to what will allow more
opportunities for employment.
If you want to reach your goals, PORT CARES will
put you in the right direction. Their passion for helping people is
encouraging."

"I would just like to tell you that before this class I really knew
nothing about computers! I cannot believe how much I have learned since
I've been here. I'm sure that it will help me in the near future with
what ever I intend to do. Computers are an everyday thing now and
everyone should be taking this class."
