ADOPT - A - FAMILY
For over 9 years Port Cares has been matching families who may require some assistance in order to have a merry Christmas with individuals and/or corporate sponsors.
Many families in our community struggle financially, especially at Christmas time. You can help one of these families out by "adopting" them for Christmas.
When I adopt a family, what is expected of me/my organization?

We will provide you with the family "wish list" Once your shopping is complete, you drop off at Port Cares, and we pass it on to the family. The process is completely confidential.

If I can't adopt a family this year, can I make a monetary donation
to the program?

Yes, you can make a monetary donation on behalf of the program. Please make your cheque payable to Port Cares.  Include "Adopt-A-Family Program" in the memo field if possible, and we will then shop on your behalf.

GIVE A GIFT
Families in our community have needs year round that are being addressed through the Give a Gift Program. At Christmas, with your donation, we are able to support people with some basic needs to help them through this sometimes difficult season.

IDEAS ON HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Money donation (tax receipts provided for $10 or more)
Food vouchers / gift cards from local grocery stores
Gift certificates such as: Canadian Tire, Harvey's-Swiss Chalet, Tim Horton's, Shoppers Drug Mart, local department stores(Seaway Mall)

FOOD DONATIONS
Frozen foods-ham, turkey, ground beef, veggies, fruits etc.
Depends (size S-M) Diapers (size 2/3)
Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, toilet paper)

EZ  ROCK MIRACLE CHRISTMAS
Many families in our community struggle financially, especially at Christmas time. You can help by being a part of the EZ Rock Miracle Christmas Program. This year 105.7 EZ Rock is participating in helping us provide Christmas for people in our community. With your donation, we will ensure a smile on a face Christmas morning!!

KOATS FOR KIDS
Once again this year, children and adults will find warmth and comfort in the generosity of the Port Colborne and Wainfleet communities.

United Way's Koats for Kids program is run through Client Services at Port Cares. We collect and distribute new and gently used winter outerwear, free of charge, to children and families of Port Colborne and Wainfleet. Scarves, mitts, toques, boots or ski pants are also accepted.

Take advantage of this opportunity to recycle your winter outerwear and do something good for your community at the same time!
