The Job Centre offers monthly workshops that assist job seekers in developing effective job search skills and strategies. These targeted half day workshops focus on a number of topics that will be of interest to the dedicated, job-ready job seeker. Read on to learn more about the current workshops offered.

Resumes 101
Learn basic resume writing skills including resume do's and don'ts, resume styles and formats, e-resume basics, resume preparation and delivery options, following up, and creating cover letters.

Safety in the Workplace
Be an informed worker. Attend this workshop and learn your rights and responsibilities regarding safety on the job.

Interview Skills Work-Out
A well-prepared resume gets you in the door. The interview will be the time when you present at your best. We offer tips and tools on preparing for the interview, how to market yourself and your skills during the interview, and suggestions for following up after the interview. There will also be a focus on handling those tough interview questions you hope they won't ask. The Job Centre can also arrange a 'mock interview' for you with one of our staff. It will give you the opportunity to practice your interview technique in a safe environment and where you will receive honest, helpful feedback.

Getting the Most Out of Job Fairs
Job Fairs are the new wave of recruiting for many Niagara employers. It is important to prepare for the job fair much the same way as you would for a traditional employment interview. However, when you are preparing to meet with 20 or more employers within a short period of time, there are some extra preparations you must take in order to get the most o f the job fair experience.
